So it has been a crazy busy summer for us! My blog has taken a backseat so we could soak up as much family time as possible between work for Darryl and I. He has been busy with the farm and we have has the busiest summer with photography so far which is such an answer to prayer! We have enjoyed photographing families, couples, and weddings this summer but one that tops our list would be our friends Dustin and Sarah's wedding that took us out to Grand Rapids, Michigan! We decided to drive out which I was really nervous about with Wilder because he barely makes it to Walmart without crying (thats a 10 minute drive from our house)! But he was amazing with very minimal tears and no crazy screaming at all! We felt very blessed and kept saying "Is this really happening?? How is he being so good??!?"
Below are some photos from our trip. We had such a good time reconnecting and meeting new friends!
Here is a summary of the photos below:
Wisconsin Dells: We stopped there on the way down and on the way back. The first time we stayed at Mount Olympus which is a huge resort with water parks and themed hotels. It was so much fun! On the way home from Grand Rapids we just stopped in WD to stretch our legs, have supper, and let Wilder play in the grass. We had supper at great pizza place where they had live music. Wilder loved it…we even took him up to put money in the girls jar. She thanked him on the microphone…we had a good laugh!!
Chicago: Is amazing. We only stopped here for 4 hours but we got to see the Bean which was on my bucket list. We went to the Goddess and The Baker to grab something cold to drink. It was a super trendy coffee place that was apparently really new! The coolest part was when we were looking for a highchair a man came and gave us one and he shook Darryl's hand and told us he was the owner. I guess he had been stopping in to grab some coffee and he has a baby of his own so he wanted to lend us a hand. That was really cool. It was extremely hot that day so later we stopped and played in the water in Millennium Park. That is probably one of my best memories of the trip! Wilder also loved watching the trains go by. We could have stood in the street all day!
We literally did not take a single picture in the Grand Rapids area (other than photographing the wedding) We arrived there at 1145 pm shot the wedding the next day and then left the day after at 10am. We would have loved to spend more time there!
Mall of America: We spent 2 nights and a day there and we are so glad we did. This was our last stop before home and we took and extra night to just relax and actually be somewhere without rushing out the next day. Wilder absolutely loved watching the rides go round and he was so stimulated in the aquarium! Oh the food picture is Chipotle….which is amazing…and I want it right now. I thank/blame my California friends for getting me hooked on it!!
That is a very brief overview of our trip but hopefully you get a better feel for our adventure through the pictures!! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy our photos!
